Transport Properties of Anisotropic Polar Fluids: 1. Quadrupolar Interaction
نویسندگان
چکیده
Equilibrium molecular dynamics simulation and the Green-Kubo formalismwere used to calculate self-diffusion coefficient, shear viscosity, and thermalconductivity for 30 different quadrupolar two-center Lennard-Jones fluids alongthe bubble line and in the homogeneous liquid. It was systematically investi-gated how anisotropy, i.e. elongation, and quadrupole momentum influence thetransport properties. The reduced elongation L was varied from 0 to 0.8 andthe reduced squared quadrupole momentum Q from 0 to 4, i.e. in the entirerange in which parameters for real fluids are expected. The statistical uncer-tainty of the reported data varies with transport property, for self-diffusioncoefficient data the error bars are typically lower than 3%, for shear viscosityand thermal conductivity they are about 8 and 12%, respectively.

Transport of a Liquid Water-Methanol Mixture in a Single Wall Carbon Nanotube
In this work, a molecular dynamics simulation of the transport of water - methanol mixture through the single wall carbon nanotube (SWCNT) is reported. Methanol and water are selected as fluid molecules since water represents a strongly polar molecule while methanol is as an intermediate between polar and strongly polar molecules. Some physical properties of the methanol-water mixture such as r...

Deuterium nuclear magnetic resonance (HNMR) has become a very valuable tool in the study of the structure and dynamics of anisotropic fluids, especially lipid bilayer model and biological membranes (1,2). Because the deuterium nucleus has spin / = 1, there is a quadrupolar splitting of the nuclear Zeeman resonance line into a doublet whenever the nucleus experiences a non-zero electric field gr...

متن کاملTransport Properties of Refrigerant Mixtures: Thermal Conductivity
In the present work, the integral equations method is used to calculate transport properties of polar fluids. For this goal, we use the Stockmayer potential and examine theoretically the thermal conductivity of several refrigerant mixtures such as R125+R134a, R125+R32, R125+R152a, R134a+R32, R152a+R32, R134a+R143a, and R125+R143a. We solve numerically the Ornstein-Zernike (OZ) equation usin...
متن کاملOn Analysis of Stress Concentration in Curvilinear Anisotropic Deformable Continuum Bodies
In cylindrical continua, hoop stresses are induced due to the circumferential failure. This mainly happens when the cylinder is subjected to mechanical loads which vary in the circumferential directions. On the other hand, radial stress is stress in the direction of or opposite to the central axis of a cylindrical body. In the present study, the influence of curvilinear anisotropy on the radial...
